How I Teach
Communication or correction? I believe in both. Language should help you communicate -- but it works best when your words are easy to understand by the majority of English speakers. Together, we'll improve your confidence and correctness at the same time.
Who I Teach
I specialise in teaching adult language learners, though I am qualified to teach English as a Second Language to any age. I am CRB checked to work with young learners, and I have an approachable and friendly personality to work with adult learners.
Why I Teach
It's not easy to live in a foreign country. The language in your head (English) is not always the language in your heart (your native language); but by learning English, you'll be able to better connect with the culture and society of native English speakers.
Who I am
My name is Joel, and as your tutor, I make it my job to source great materials to improve your English. I use Oxford and Cambridge University Press materials with most of my students. I also hold a certificate in TESOL, a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, and a Master's Degree in Education.
The tuition I have been receiving meet my needs in every way. The lessons are delivered in a professional and friendly manner. Joel is very patient and explains things well by giving enough time to learn things. He will also go over the same thing with you if you are not very sure. Joel is very easy to talk to and he doesn’t make you feel stupid if you don’t know something. I intend to continue learning with him as I am very satisfied with tuition and would highly recommend him to anybody."
